Beer Style: DIPA / ABV: 8.2% / Hops used: Strata, Citra, Chinook

Here’s a chance to taste this heavy-hitting hop combo in a big beer. Early reports describe the beer as “juicy overripe mango, dank cannabis, strawberry and passion fruit!”

Strata-Luminosa Hazy IPA

Beer Style: Hazy IPA / ABV: 6.8% / Hops used: Strata, Luminosa

The bluesy depths of Strata, combined with Luminosa’s bright Caribbean beat, is likely to take us straight to Jamaica.

So exciting to have our first taste of this hop combo in a hazy, along with the Blackstack team and fellow CBC’ers! Strata has proven to be equally sensational in both west coast and hazy IPA styles. Fair State Brewing Cooperative

Founders Evan Sallee, Niko Tonks, and Matt Hauck met as competitors on the rugby pitch and discovered a shared passion for home brewing. They turned that passion into a business when they founded Fair State as a co-op brewery with the vision of getting co-op members involved in operations and bringing co-op values, like giving back, to their community. Head over on the beer trolley. Snag a crowler on your way out, and 10% will be donated to their nonprofit partner for May: Appetite for Change.

Luminosa IPA

Beer Style: West Coast IPA / ABV: 6.3% / Hops used: Strata, Luminosa

From the brewery: “This beer is built to showcase a brand new hop. Luminosa is the next big aroma hop from Indie Hops, the people who brought you Strata. We’ve paired Luminosa’s aromas and flavors of “peach-lemonade, candied orange peel, marionberry and mango” with the familiar and intense tropical/dank profile of Strata in this west coast IPA. Early returns are pretty stunning, and we expect to see a lot more of this hop in the very near future.”

Strata has proven to be equally sensational in both west coast and hazy IPA styles. We believe Luminosa will excel in both formats as well. Join us in finding out! Taste the west coast here and head over to BlackStack to try the hazy.

KÖLD-STYLE Kolsch (Lórien)

Beer Style: Kolsch / ABV: 4.7% / Hops used: Lórien

From the brewery: “KÖLD-STYLE is a nice, cold Kölsch-style ale, brewed in collaboration with our friends at St. Elmo Brewing Company in Austin, TX and hopped exclusively with Lórien, a brand new hop from our friends at Indie Hops. KÖLD-STYLE is crisp, herbal, bright, and probably more hoppy than its European forebears, but like, in a polite but fun way. Fermented on the cool side and lagered cold, it sports a whisp of fruity ester that serves only to enhance your enjoyment.”

Our new 2021 release, Lórien, brings low-gravity beer to life with mixed citrus, fresh melon and an appetizing cinnamon-spice finish.

Falling Knife Brewing Co.

Why the name? We were wondering too! Ever heard of the phrase “A falling knife has no handle”? Basically, if you see a falling knife, step back and don’t try to grab it until it’s hit the ground. But at Falling Knife, friends and co-founders Andy, Tom, and Dan “are willing to take a risk to get what we want, even if it means taking a few cuts along the way.” Alright, we like these guys! For those of you that are risk averse, don’t worry, they promise not to throw knives the week of CBC, and our collab beer is gonna taste amazing–so do stop by!
