This year, as you dream up your fresh hop beers, consider the unique opportunity of picking up fresh Indie Hops grown at Goschie Farms and fresh crop year 2026 Goschie Promise Malt from Admiral Maltings!
Four Oregon-bred Indie Hops varieties will be available for fresh hop pickups from Goschie Farms: Strata, Lórien, Luminosa and Audacia. In addition to Indie varieties, we also offer the following Goschie-grown public varieties for fresh hop pickups: Cascade, Crystal, Sterling, US Fuggle/Tettnang and Willamette.
And for the first time, brewers will be able to source current crop year Goschie Promise malt for their fresh hop beers! Goschie Promise malt is floor-malted from Oregon Promise, Salmon-Safe barley, grown exclusively at Goschie Farms in Silverton, Oregon.
For breweries featuring Goschie-grown Indie Hops or public varieties, Goschie Promise makes it possible to create a single-origin Goschie Farms beer.

While many brewers are well-versed in the attributes of Strata, some may be unfamiliar with our other unique hop offerings:
Lórien, our New World lager hop, is built like a true noble: low alpha and squeaky clean, Lórien imparts clean hop flavors of mixed citrus, fresh melon and cinnamon-spice in low-gravity beer. Named after Tolkien’s mythical land of the elves, this hop is conducive to celebration and appetite!
Luminosa, our “liquid sunshine” hop, transports you to the white sands of a Caribbean beach with its bright, fresh tropical fruit flavors of peach-mango lemonade, candied orange peel, boysenberry, papaya and guava. Unlike most “punchy” hops, Luminosa is almost completely void of the resinous/piney character that usually comes along for the ride — allowing for versatility in the brewing process.
Audacia, our more recent hop release, is a Strata off-spring that is deceptively delicate on the rub, yet delivers maximum impact in beer. Expressive sweet-tangy berry flavors and lilac/rose/lavender aroma are common Audacia attributes that are super tasty in hop-driven beer. Latin for audacity, this hop brews up to its name: don’t let the low-ish 6% alpha fool you, Audacia will make its presence clear in IPAs and Hazies!

Admiral Maltings’ Goschie Promise
Crafted in small batches, Goschie Promise is floor-malted from Oregon Promise, Salmon-Safe barley, grown exclusively at Goschie Farms in Silverton, Oregon. Developed by Oregon State University’s Dr. Pat Hayes, Oregon Promise combines the heritage character of Golden Promise with the brewing performance of Full Pint, creating a uniquely flavorful and highly expressive barley.
Admiral’s traditional floor-malting process is uniquely suited to this exceptional barley. Gentle handling, spread thinly on the malt floor, and careful kilning preserve delicate flavor compounds that are often lost in industrial malting. The result is a malt of remarkable depth and character, with notes of honey, white cake, and sweet bran, supported by a rich, silky texture.
In the brewhouse, Goschie Promise performs as beautifully as it tastes. Well modified with low protein, it is ideal for single-infusion mashing, it delivers excellent friability and high extract. Brewers can achieve target gravities with less grain while producing a highly attenuative wort.
The flavor is unmistakable: pronounced honey aromatics, a smooth nectar-like palate, and a fullness that persists even in highly attenuated beers. It brings surprising depth to low-gravity beers and shines in malt-forward styles where grain character takes center stage. Kilned to a low color, Goschie Promise is versatile enough for virtually any beer style.
