CRYSTAL
Crystal Hop Breed
HOP HISTORY

One of the 4 Hallertau mf. crosses released form USDA – Corvallis, OR (1993).  Crystal took the most dramatic fork in the road likely due to sharing some of its pedigree with Cascade.

BREWING PROFILE
Oregon grown Crystal has the gentle orange background found in all Crystal but also a little rhubarb twang and slight new American hop funk that is excellent in 'american-hybrid’ style lager, kolsch, and other refreshing but flavor-hopped beers. Kind of fun that a Hallertau mf. analog has found its way into plenty of IPA recipes too.
